When the client is located in a subnetted network distinct from the RemotEye 4, the Tupgrade tool may not function due to the routers between the RemotEye 4 and the client's inability to route the Tupgrade request. The user can implement a firmware upgrade via the web app to circumvent this issue.
Note: This method can be used even if there is no subnet issue. Doing the firmware upgrade on the RemotEye 4 will only temporarily interrupt network communication to any management system connected but will not affect the operation of the UPS. 1. If you are using a static IP address, before doing a firmware upgrade, make sure 'DHCP' is disabled (Settings > RemotEye 4 System Settings > System/Network > DHCP Control) to prevent the IP address from changing. 2. Download the latest firmware from the link below, click "View Technical Downloads → Software," and look for the firmware. a. Link: https://www.toshiba.com/tic/power-electronics/uninterruptible-power-systems/monitoring-solutions/remoteye4 3. Go to RemotEye 4 web app and log in as admin. 4. Then append '/PageUpgrade.asp' to the end of the RemotEye 4 URL. For example, https://192.168.8.110/PageUpgrade.asp 5. Click 'Choose File' to select the firmware file and then click 'Upload' to start the firmware process. 6. Please do not interrupt the firmware process until it finishes. Once the firmware upgrade has been completed, you will be returned to the login page. 7. Since we added security features, you might not access RemotEye 4 via HTTP. You will need to use HTTPS (e.g., https://192.168.0.115/) instead. You can enable HTTP by going to the device console via SSH/Telnet (1 > 2 > 9 > 1). 8. Also, this firmware might reset your superuser password (the password that was assigned during the first time setup) to ADMIN since we extended a password to be up to 20 characters. To change your password, log in to RemotEye 4 via SSH, Telnet, or USB with the ADMIN password. Then navigate to the super user password settings (1>3>3) to change the password. The username will remain the same. |
