Register new device to an existing TMS account

In order to incorporate additional devices (e.g., RemotEye 4) into your account for remote monitoring capabilities, please refer to the instructions outlined in this guide.

Note: This document assumes that the RemotEye 4 is already installed with the most recent firmware version and can connect to TMS. To ensure that the requirements for connecting a device to TMS are met, please refer to the relevant section here.

1) First, the UPS and RemotEye 4 need to be operational, and you are logged in as an administrator. If the network configuration for RemotEye 4 is not configured already, please refer to the supplied product documentation.
2) Set up RemotEye 4 with an IP address, and configure the network firewall to allow outbound connection via port 8883 if blocked.
3) Go to RemotEye 4 web interface Settings > RemotEye 4 System Settings > System/Network menu and enter System Name as follows , for example, “1600XP 18kVA 160300007,” and click on the Set button to confirm. 

4) Go to RemotEye 4 Settings > Remote Monitoring Service menu via its web interface.
5) Enter the following information accurately into the registration form (this will be used to create the user profile), and wait for an email confirmation with a link to complete the registration.

a) Company name
b) Name (first and last)
c) Email (Note this email will be used for event notifications if opt in)
d) Phone number
e) Country
f) Street
g) City
h) State
i) Zip Code
j) Time zone
k) RemotEye Device (e.g., RemotEye 4)*
l) RemotEye Device Serial Number*
m) RemotEye Device MAC*
n) UPS Model Number*
o) UPS Serial Number**
p) Do you have an existing account? (Set to Yes)
q) Then click on the Save button to save the form.
r) Click on the Send Email button and follow the promoted instructions.***

6) Please wait for a Toshiba technical team member to send you an email indicating that the device has been registered. This can take up to 48 hours.

7) Once registration confirmation email is received, go to Asset Management > Devices Certificate menu.

8) Look for the device being activated, click the Generate Certificate button, and securely save the files.

 

9) Go to the RemotEye 4 web interface Settings > MQTT Settings menu, upload the “.key” file onto the MQTT key section, and click on the Upload button. The other file, “.pem,” is uploaded into the MQTT CA section, and click on the Upload button.
10) Click on the Connect button and wait until the connection status changes to “Connected.” If the connection is unsuccessful, ensure the network firewall allows only outbound connections via port 8883.

NOTE:
* RemotEye 4 auto-populates this data when registering via its web interface
** User has to enter the serial number for G9000/G9400/G2020 UPS models
*** For RemotEye 4 to send the email, please connect an SMTP server by going to email settings. If no SMTP server is available, take a screenshot of the form, send it to [email protected] and title the email subject "TMS registration," and wait for a TMS team member to contact you back to continue.
