How to perform a firmware upgrade on the HMI?

  • If you want to use the HMI with the RemotEye ESS and/or RemotEye 4 (System based), please ensure you have the correct firmware installed. The latest firmware can be found at toshibaups.com > RemotEye HMI > View Technical Downloads > Software > 480VDC_RMTI-HMI_XX_X.X.X.X

  1. Before installing the firmware, ensure that the HMI is powered on and installed on the SCiB ESS cabinet. If not, follow the RemotEye ESS User Manual for the installation procedure.

  2. Unzip the firmware folder and copy the files to a USB flash drive

    1. For stand alone firmware download 480VDC_RMTI-HMI_SA_1.0.0.0

    2. For system based firmware download 480VDC_RMTI-HMI_SYS_1.0.0.0

Note: Recommended USB size of at least 4 GB of storage with an FAT32 file system. 

  1. The USB flash drive should look like this in the Root directory

  2. Plug in the USB stick (3) to a new panel after powering up

  1. The HMI will now automatically begin updating, and the screen should display the following 

    1. Initializing updater...  Starting system update  Check file data partition

    2. Updating Data partition [..%] writing

    3. Process completed successfully! Unplug the USB stick and power off the machine

  2. Unplug the USB stick and power off the HMI for at least 10 seconds before powering it on again.
